Ø Develops, recommends and advises the General Manager on policies,budgets, plans and objectives and pursues their achievement. Control ofexpenditures in the Department. Continuously works to review procedures,improve efficiency and reduce cost by stimulating profit/expense consciousness.Continuously researches and implements improved operating procedures andservice standards.
Ø Liaises with suppliers to ensure maximum services/optimum productsare purchased by the hotel at the most efficient price. Testing of new productsand materials. Establish goals for those reporting to him/her to accomplish thedepartment's overall objectives. Fully responsible for the development, career planning.
Ø transfers and merit increases. Identifies and establishes trainingneeds; plans and oversees all training and development programs and ensuresthat proper training activities are given the required priority and attention.Train and develop staff knowledge and skills and ensure a comprehensive crosstraining system is in place. Monitor and review all departments' log books andfollows up on appropriate action where necessary. Maintain complete and readilyaccessible records and files of necessary information for future reference.
Ø Report results and recommendations based on analysis of factualdata. Generate a spirit of cooperation and teamwork between the hotel'sdepartments as well as within Food & Beverage. Develops and maintains goodemployee relations through intelligent interpretation and conscientiousapplication of hotel personnel policies.
Ø Interpretation of and communicate corporate policies to all staffconcerned and formulates clear hotel-policies to be carried out.
Ø Perform special functions not specifically assigned to theposition, when requested by the General Manager.
Ø Ensures that staff in the respective areas exhibit and practicethe principles of the Starwood Cares at all times, are uniformed andwell-groomed.
Ø Prepares and maintains up to date job descriptions, policies andprocedures for each job category.
Ø Supervision of inventory levels of all controllable items. Sharesresponsibility for maintenance and safe operation of all machineries used inthe respective departments.
Ø Continuously motivate associates to gain highest level of moraleand to maintain goodwill.
Ø Be exemplary in maintaining the highest levels of Service.
